New Face

    next image

A small addition (with less than 32 square feet) at the front door reaches forward to invite guests in while doubling closet space and creating a place for a built-in bench. Shoes and coats that used to spill into the living room now remain out of sight. This added interior space also forms a corner for the porch, maintaining the perfect balance between a cozy retreat and an open, welcoming view. The rhythm of the columns with low stone bases adds emphasis to the two features of this simple addition.
