The St. Paul Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) awarded this design an Honorable Mention for the 2005 St. Paul Prize Design Competition. The Dayton's Bluff Neighborhood Association commissioned the competition as a way to obtain a "prototype" design for a bluff top site on Railroad Island in St. Paul. The design we submitted utilized Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) to provide the mass production capability sought after in a "prototype" while avoiding the cookie cutter aspect of mass produced housing by varying the way the interior and exterior of the house are finished.
