Kitchen Transplant
This unusual move transformed the kitchen from a well designed, but
small, thoroughfare into a spacious hub to connect all the family activities. The kitchen
now opens onto the large living room, perfect for casual entertaining, and the old eat-in kitchen,
located in close proximity to the garage and the boys' bedrooms, has plenty of space for
video games, a table for projects, and a corner for comfy lounging.
The existing kitchen was very nicely done, and great care was taken to measure
each piece of cabinetry and countertop for re-use. The central island is completely new,
but every piece of the old kitchen found its place in the new one, helping to keep the
budget under control without sacrificing quality.
